Hilo International Airport Advisory Issued

The Hawaii Department of Transportation issued the following advisory on January 1, 10.00 pm Hawaii time.

There have been issues with checkpoint screening machines at Hilo International Airport (ITO) throughout New Year’s Day.

A technician is onsite, but HDOT recommends getting to ITO a minimum of two hours before your flight departure. Tuesday, Jan. 2 is also expected to be especially busy. We will update you when the technician has completed the repair to the TSA screening equipment.

Departing passengers may expect delays and should arrive at Hilo International Airport early to avoid any issues.
